In the month of April, we are re-membering who we are as vessels of divine feminine energy. Each day, we meet a new goddess—a mirror reflecting back to us the sacred traits we may have forgotten, buried, or traded for societal approval. Today, we greet Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of music, dance, beauty, fertility, and joy.
Hathor is often depicted wearing a sun disk between cow horns, symbolizing her connection to creation and the cosmic feminine. She was beloved not only for her beauty and sensuality, but for her capacity to bring healing and harmony through sound, movement, and pleasure. As “Mistress of Jubilation” and “Lady of the Sycamore,” Hathor was seen as a protector of women, a midwife to the soul, and a divine companion on the journey from life to death.
But Hathor’s gifts were not confined to mythology. They pulse through the blood of every woman who has ever danced alone in her kitchen, humming to a song only she can hear. They echo in the laughter shared between women who have finally learned to own their joy without apology. They live in you, even if you’ve forgotten.
In a world where joy is too often postponed, and movement is measured only by its calorie burn, Hathor gently reminds you: You are meant to feel good. To move in your own rhythm. To sound your voice in celebration. To allow pleasure into your body—not as a reward, but as a sacred act of reclamation.
The divine feminine isn’t rigid. She doesn’t live in cages or within the narrow lines of control. She moves, she flows, she dances with life. And when we dance with her, when we sing our truth, we heal generations of silenced song. Hathor teaches us that music and movement are more than entertainment—they are medicine. They are sacred expression. They are how we remember the language of the soul.
If every morning, you would start your day by swinging your arms to get your energy moving, you would be sending a message to both your body and to the universe that you are an energetic being. Moving is the best form of release of stress, and is the healthiest way to begin your day.
Your prompt today: Move.
Stretch, sway, dance. Let yourself be moved by sound or by silence. Don’t choreograph your joy—feel it. Whether in five minutes or for an hour, whether in public or private, allow your body to guide you back to yourself.
Hathor lives in you. And today, she is inviting you to return to joy, not someday—now.
