Hello beautiful.
There’s a lot going on right now in the the world that’s creating an enormous imbalance and uncertainty. It may manifest in your physical and emotional body as fear, anger, confusion, shock, bewilderment, or as a feeling of malais. It’s important to connect the dots—to realize that our emotions and our physical body are interconnected. There can be no separation as such. It’s important to take care of your physical wellness, your emotional health, and your thoughts. You are whole/gestalt, and it’s more important than ever to really tend to your whole self. Your mind/body/spirit whole self needs personal care to keep you strong and optimally balanced.
This leads me to wonder, and to ask, do you feel alone?
If you’ve been with me for any length of time, you’ve probably heard me ask “how does it feel?” I want you to stop whatever you’re doing and notice, without judgment, just notice your overall feelings. Are you calm? Are you anxious? If you wear a fitness device, what’s it telling you? When you calmly notice, what does your intuition tell you about your wellbeing?
I frequently ask the question about how you’re feeling because your feelings are powerful instructors; they hold so much information that can get you through anything. ANYTHING. But in order to be well, you must listen to those feelings and not ignore them. Just notice. Notice your breathing. Notice you palms (are they sweaty and clammy or are they dry?) Do you feel like you’ve “got it” under control?
The point is, you are not alone. We humans are powerful in our humaness, and this power is amplified even more so when we are connected with other kindred like minded souls. I want you to remember that. I am compelled to remind you of your power.
Today’s post is short. It’s to reach out, to remind and encourage you to be very mindful of your peace. Whatever you can do to relax, to self-nurture, to calm your nervous system, do it. Eat more mindfully and cleaner. Make it a habit to hydrate with cool clean water. Limit screen time, especially if you’re prone to doom scrolling. Create a habit that will get you to sleep at a reasonable time. Focus on the good wherever you can find it. Connect with uplifting humans who share your energy. Go often to that special place where you find comfort, whether it’s in nature or in a warm bath, take the time to go to that place.
You are not alone.
Millions of us feel just like you do. Reach out to those who you can trust and find solace with. Take the advice of my late great mentor, and, “Never try to teach a pig to sing. It annoys the pig and wastes your time.”
Right now, it makes sense to cherish your energy and don’t waste it trying to convince others to believe and feel as you do. It’s a waste of time. And it annoys the pigs.
Remember, we are in this together. Focus on the good. Nuture it, and watch it blossom.
