I can still remember being a very young girl when we studied Maria Salomea Skłodowska-Curie, better known as “Madame Curie” or to young women like myself, just Marie Curie. She mesmerized me with her ability to influence. And she did it all without a fancy lab.

Marie Curie didn’t just break barriers—she obliterated them. The first woman to win a Nobel Prize—and the only person to win in two scientific fields—she changed the world with her discoveries in radioactivity. At a time when women were barely allowed in laboratories, she led groundbreaking research that paved the way for modern medicine.
